Your first week

What an Admin sets up once, and what everybody else does on their first case.

Two different first weeks. Standing Cogentic up is an Admin's job and happens once. Working cases is everybody's and starts as soon as the first alert lands.

If you are standing it up

All of this lives under Settings, in the menu under your name. You need Admin or Owner.

  1. 1

    Connect your vendors

Settings, then Integrations. Cogentic screens against what you connect here and nothing else.

  2. 2

    Publish your SOPs

Settings, then Policies. Upload them and Cogentic reads and publishes each one. The agent works to what is published, so check the list afterwards.

  3. 3

    Push your customers

Issue a token under Settings, then API tokens. Have your systems push customers and their declared wallets with it. Until they do, a case can tell you what an address has touched but not whose it is.

  4. 4

    Set your priorities

Settings, then Priorities. These decide what surfaces first in Today.

  5. 5

    Add a report template

Settings, then Reporting. You can decide a case without one. You cannot produce a report without one.

  6. 6

    Invite the team

Settings, then Members. Everybody you invite can work every case, so invite the people who should see them.

If you are working cases

  1. 1

    Start in Today

Today is where you start. Three of its four lists are yours; Alerts for review is the organisation's untriaged queue.

  2. 2

Open a case and read Summary top to bottom

The panels are in a fixed order, running from what came in through to what you decided. Read it in that order the first few times.

  3. 3

    Open a source

Click the source on any finding. Do this once on your first case. It is the fastest way to learn how much of the page is the agent's wording and how much is the vendor's.

  4. 4

Add what the agent could not reach

A bank statement, a letter, a call you made. Put it on the case so the decision rests on the whole picture.

  5. 5

    Decide

The Decision panel sits at the bottom of Summary, under the agent's recommendation. Five outcomes. Two close the case.
