Building a report template
Cogentic ships no report templates. The questions depend on the regulator you report to, so your organisation builds them.
A template is the set of questions a report asks. Your team answers them on a case, and the answers become the document you lodge. Cogentic ships none. The questions depend on the regulator you report to.
A case can be decided without a template. It cannot produce a report without one.
Build a template
Settings, then Report templates
- 1
Select New template, then Create it myself
The builder opens empty.
- 2
Give it a Template title
The name your team picks from on a case, so name it after the report it produces, such as AUSTRAC SMR. A Description is optional and says what the template is for.
- 3
Add a section for each part of the report
Select Add section. Every field lives inside a section, which is what gives the finished document its headings.
- 4
Add the fields your team must answer
Select Add field inside a section. Write each field as the question appears on the regulator's own form.
- 5
Select Publish
Cogentic refuses an empty or untitled template: Add at least one field before publishing and Give the template a title before publishing. On success the row reads Published v1.
Changing a published template
Edit it and select Publish again. The template becomes the next version, and reports started from then on use it. Discard changes throws the edits away and returns the template to the version in force.
A report pins the version it was created from, so a change never moves under a report already in progress. See what a case keeps from the day it ran.
Archiving a template
Select Archive on the row. An archived template can no longer start a new report, and reports already filed keep the version they were built on.
