Drafting and submitting a report

You build a report from a template on the case's Reports tab. Submitting one freezes it.

Before you start

Reports sit on a tab of the case, and a case can carry more than one.

Draft one

  1. 1

Add a report and pick a template

Each card says what the template is for and which version this report will use. Cogentic pins that version when you create the report, so a later change to the template does not touch a report already in progress.

  2. 2

    Fill it

Fields the case can answer arrive filled. A prefilled field may not answer the question the template asked, so read every one.

  3. 3

Keep going when you need to

Your edits save as you type. Save and close leaves the report a draft.

Review before you submit

Review shows the report as a document rather than as a form. What you read here is what the PDF and Word exports will contain.

Nothing is left out. An unanswered field reads Not provided, and a required field left empty carries a Required badge.

Submit

Submit report freezes the report, stamps the time and records who submitted it. That is the person who pressed Submit, not whoever drafted it, which matters when an analyst drafts and the MLRO signs.

A submitted report cannot be edited. To correct one, use Amend. Cogentic creates a new draft carrying the values and the same pinned template version, and marks the earlier report superseded once you submit the correction.
