Cogentic's own words, and what each one means here. Industry terms are defined in Learn.

What these words mean inside Cogentic. Where the industry uses one of them more loosely, this is the narrower meaning the product holds it to.

Alert: Something a vendor or one of your systems raised. Cogentic raises none of its own, and the id on a case is the vendor's.
Case: The unit of work, and the record. Every alert sits on one, and a case can carry several.
Subject: What the case is about. An address, a transfer or a customer.
Untriaged: Open, unowned and with no decision recorded. There is no button. Changing any of the three triages the case.
Priority: Your organisation's own level, carrying a resolution time. That time is what produces the SLA on a case. It is a service target, not a regulatory deadline.

Finding: One thing the agent established, with the sources it came from attached.
Source: A single call the agent made, kept with the request and the response. Open one and you see what the vendor said, not the agent's account of it.
Severity: How serious the finding would be if it holds.
Grade: How well supported a finding is: evidence or lead. Independent of severity, and the one that decides what the finding can be used for.
Lead: A finding that is worth following and cannot back a decision. The agent will not cite one for an outcome.
Recommendation: A proposed outcome with its reasoning and the findings it rests on. Nothing applies it.
Unavailable: A check that did not answer. Different from clean, and the agent will not close a case on it.

Decision: An outcome a person recorded, with their reasoning. Five to choose from, in two groups: Resolve closes the case, Continue investigating keeps it open.
Report: A document built from one of your templates and filled from the case. Draft while you work on it, Submitted once frozen.
Submitted: Finished inside Cogentic. Not lodged. Cogentic sends nothing to a regulator and does not record whether you lodged it.
Template: The questions a report asks, authored by your organisation and published as a version. A report keeps the version it was created from.

SOP: A procedure you uploaded. The agent retrieves the published version and cites the section it followed.
Declared wallet: An address one of your customers has told you is theirs. It is what lets a case put a name beside an address.
Custody: Whether a declared wallet is hosted by a custodian or held by the customer. Not saying is recorded as not said.
Issued asset: A token your organisation issues. Declared per chain, and weighed first in findings.
API token: How your own systems reach Cogentic. Issued by an Admin or Owner, read-only or read and write.

What Cogentic is

Cogentic investigates the alerts your systems already raise and drafts the report. It raises no alerts of its own and it lodges nothing.
