What you can show an auditor
An auditor asks what you concluded, what you knew and who decided. Cogentic holds all three, and only some of it leaves as a file.
An auditor asks for three things: what you concluded, what you knew when you concluded it, and who concluded it. Cogentic holds all three. Only some of it can leave the building as a file.
Know which is which before the review rather than during it.
What leaves, and what does not
| What they ask for | Where it is | Can you hand it over |
|---|---|---|
| The report you lodged | The case's Reports tab | Yes. Download as PDF or Download as Word |
| The decision and its reasoning | The top of Summary on the closed case | Only inside the report, or on screen |
| The findings and their sources | The Analysis panel on Summary | Only inside the report, or on screen |
| Who did what, and when | The Audit log tab | On screen |
Prepare a case for review
On the case, before the reviewer arrives
- 1
Read the decision at the top of Summary
Check that the reasoning still reads to somebody who was not there. It is the first thing anybody reads and the only part written by a person.
- 2
Open each finding the decision cites
Confirm every one is graded evidence. A decision resting on a lead is the finding a reviewer will land on.
- 3
Download the report
From the report's actions menu: Download as PDF or Download as Word. The file carries the questions your template asked at the version the report was created from.
- 4
Open the Audit log tab and read it through once
It is the part you cannot send ahead, so it is the part worth knowing before somebody reads it in front of you.
What the record will not tell them
Cogentic does not record whether you lodged a report with a regulator, does not track lodgement deadlines and cannot tell you whether you met one. Submitted is a state inside the product. Evidence of lodgement lives wherever your organisation keeps it.
Reading a case is not a change, so the log shows who altered a case and never who looked at one.

The audit log
Cogentic records every change to a case against whoever made it. Reading one is not a change, so it leaves no entry.

What a report is
How a report is built from a case, and what submitting one does. You lodge it with the regulator yourself, outside Cogentic.
